I signed a non compete documentation when I worked for a mom and pop type security company, the wannabe fat cat, treated his employee's like less than human's, in the middle of my employment with this jerk, another company acquired the contract, never did he once let us know that we were soon to be out of a job, in the mean time the new employeers offered us employment at the same location we were currently, it is now my understanding that this jerk is prepared to sue us because of this non compete documentation, what grounds does he have to go forward and do we have any recourse?

Didn't see that one coming. I can understand both sides of the fence and, what it really comes down to is -- just how much integrity is present on both sides when dealing with this issue. It will be interesting to follow!
